Obsessed: Naomi Stein’s Bold Home and Laura Dro’s Gorgeous, Technicolor Textiles

I’ve mentioned before that I tend to be a neutrals gal. I’m just generally afraid of color… That said, on occasion, I have been known to dabble with a single, saturated hue. But two big, bold colors… at the same time? All bets are off.

However, I find myself completely and totally obsessed with that room to the right from a sneak peek of designer Naomi Stein’s home over on Design Sponge. Stein manages to make, wait for it, a trio (!) of bold colors, namely hot pink, Yves Klein blue, and tomato red, feel totally cohesive, avoiding garish territory by deftly tempering the combo with earthy accents and pops of crisp white, bronze, and chocolate brown.

Well played Naomi Stein.

While obsessed, I’m still not sold on replicating this action in my house…

But, I would be more than happy with a teeny, tiny dose of bold color mash up, like, say, the textiles and art by Laura Dro Designs (from $110) currently on offer over at Dallas designer Abbe Fenimore’s Shop Ten 25.

Baby steps, friends.

  2. Wow thanks for the mention, Joslyn! I miss my techincolor wall. I’m designing my new place and there will be some color, but no YKL.

  4. [...] Big  shout out to Dallas!  I was featured on D Home’s blog this week.  I’m still shocked that crazy blue wall was liked by so many people.  Hope [...]
