Black Friday scares the bejesus out of me, I’m not gonna lie. I get hives just thinking about it. But “Small Business Saturday” (not to mention a lot of Internet shopping) feels more my speed.

The initiative, started by American Express, helps support local mom and pop shops during the holidays. (Always a good thing, yes?)

A slew of Dallas/Fort Worth businesses are taking advantage of the day with special sales. Like, say, 20% off the entire store at J. McIntyre Home in Arlington.

I can get behind that action.
