I was getting caught up on my New York Times reading when I stumbled upon an article about the current surge in (really great) Scandinavian food in Minneapolis… a return to the cities “Nordic roots” if you will.
Yes, I realize this in and of itself is about as non-local as you can get, but here’s the Dallas connection… The interiors of the Bachelor Farmer (one of the two restaurants featured in the article) were done by local designer (and one of our D Home “Thursday Tastemakers”) Janet Gridley.
Her signature blend of whimsy meets warm, approachable luxury is evident in the highly detailed, incredibly interesting space. Take for instance the custom wallpaper, or the gingham awnings, or the carefully considered toast caddies, or how about the crocheted afghan clad walls in the private dining room(!).
The whole enterprise (plus the fact that it’s a good 12 degrees cooler there today) makes me want to hop a plane to Minneapolis stat.
Check out more Bachelor Farmer goodness after the jump.
