Let me start by saying that yes, I realize that a bracelet doesn’t really qualify as fodder for a “home and garden” blog…but the bracelet in question is, well…a nail (sort of), so I’m going to let it slide. Cool?
Every once in a while I encounter something that makes my official “covet list”. I do not take this list lightly. It is the wish list. Only stunning, interesting, unusual items, elusive in some way (way outside my budget, might not even actually exist) allowed. Items like (purely hypothetically of course) a 1972 Mercedes convertible (hunter green, mint condition, camel leather interior) or a Cy Twombly might make the list. This is not a enterprise rooted in reality friends. It is 100% fantasy.
The latest item to grace the “covet list” is a 18-karat yellow gold Cartier Juste un Clou (“Just a Nail”) bracelet. It’s a reinterpretation of a bracelet that Aldo Cipullo designed for Cartier in 1971 (right around the time my fantasy 1972 Mercedes was conceived). It’s sculptural, a little edgy, and completely beautiful. It’s also a cool 35k. I think it definitely hits all the qualifications.

You aren’t the only one with the Mercedes on their wish list. I favored the navy with camel, but the hunter green came in second. (saw one just the other day, still looks really good).
[...] Ok, back to the rug. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect vintage, ever so artfully worn Persian rug for my master bedroom for what feels like ages. It’s painful, I’m not going to lie. See I have this v. specific idea in my head that I’m not sure actually even exists within my price range. Sadly, this seems to be a frequent scenario for me (see: convertible Mercedes). [...]
I spy a nail bracelet that I suspect, although less covetable, is much more affordable. http://shoptalk.dmagazine.com/2012/04/30/whats-in-blinc-stylist-ali-burks-bag/
