This lovely spring weather (and the fact that it’s Friday) has us totally blissed out… We’re feeling chipper, perky, generous even.
So we’re offering up that trio of Topiary candleholders from Crate and Barrel + four of those Courbet melamine salad plates pictured above from our March/April issue to one of our lovely readers.
Just leave a comment on this post telling us how you plan to prettify your patio for spring and follow D Home on Pinterest by Monday, March 26th at 5:00 p.m. for a chance to get the goods. We’ll announce the winner on Tuesday.
Good luck!

I plan on adding some vertical succulent gardens, more perennials and
fresh cushions to the lounge chairs. I have to agree the Spring weather right now is pretty awesome!
I have a very small apartment patio which has been neglected through the winter/rainy season, but with the emergence of spring, I have extra motivation to change the status quo. I recently bought a pair of scuffed black braided hemp lounge chairs for cheap at the IKEA as-is section which I plan on spraypainting an apple green color. I would also like to set out a sturdy wood cafe folding table, which would be really useful when I’m enjoying some drinks with friends outside. And I can finally set out my black + blum hot pot barbeque, which is a small terra cotta pot whose lid is used for growing herbs, while the inside of the pot hides a coal-fired grill, perfect to use for grilling while sprucing up on my small patio with some fauna! http://www.black-blum.com/products/hot-pot-bbq/
I plan on adding some new pillows to my couch, finally buying some patio chairs and planting an herb garden! Yay for Spring!
This spring I plan to add pops of red to ignite the “fame” area of the bagua map of my home. I’ve found feng shui has really helped liven up my living space! Red patio furniture and throw pillows are a must!
Just purchased these fresh looking recycled glass hurricanes in turquoise and lime green for candles on my patio table. A few outdoors pillows in teal, royal and lime and a new outdoor rug. I plan on going with white petunias and geraniums for a clean looking palette. Very excited about Sunday brunches and evening dinners on my patio!
I plan on planting some potted plants and get new patio furniture!
My new house in uptown has a wonderful rooftop patio with a fireplace and a new Big Green Egg. The only problem is that there is NO furniture. I plan on making it look less “Plano like” first off and changing out all the Rob & Stucky style light fixtures. Then, I’ll add large potted plants, some comfortable seating, mosaic table, and outdoor incense to make the patio smell of exotic far east places. The candleholders will work great for those evening alfresco date nights, and the plates will be used to hold my nutella filled croissants while I drink my green smoothy during breakfast…(on the patio of course)
Hi.. my aunt and I we just buy our first home and we don’t have any furniture except our beds, clothe, shoes , and all kitchen items , we are so happy for our first empy home.
we will dream to have breakfast every morning in our small but nice patio.. and we dream to have nice evenings with some good wine and friends enjoying the lovely weather , we are thinking in some really comfortable lounge patio furniture with aromatic candles and big pillows, we have can’t wait to start our mornings full of happiness in our new place
I have a rustic back yard, that is in great need of modern additions. This spring we planned on putting in some new bushes and all year round plants. New deck rug, and I am going to make/sew new seating for the picnic bench….since picnic benches aren’t that comfortable.
On my list I have a cozy hammock to enjoy this weather in!
I’ve got a fairly small apartment patio, so I’d like to add a little table/chair set for two. I recently planted some herbs and I can’t wait to see them sprout!
How do i plan to prettify my patio???
I would most definitely have something on it!… It’ s so bare!!! As a graduate student I really need some new duds on the patio. I would design my patio as peaceful and serene with some candles lit in those candles holders on a warm spring night, pop open a bottle of wine add a cheese plate and relax with an awesome spring salad using those plates. oh… and I could go for that table and couch too!! I can just picture it now : ) ahhhh…..
i will give them to my son for his patio at his apartment in austin.he is graduating from u t in may!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!grats son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in the market for a pretty outdoor rug the year!
I plan on sprucing up my tables and chairs with new colorful pillows and adding hanging bulbs from corner to corner!
I am painting my furniture and swing bright colors of the year, teal, lime, aqua, and tangerine, to go with my 50 style aluminum chairs, My son is painting a mural on my shed wall and I have a mail box also paint by YarDSale on facebook and this is where I keep my spade and sissors for small yard tasks and since I have 5 new grandkids, Getting a pool for sandc and one for water to play in. I love to take pics with my great camera of the kids playing and also a new Dog house for my 3 Dogs. Every Year I pick out a new perninal and one of my kids build me a new bird house.
Flowers, little pots of herbs..just let the sun shine.
I plan to add some flowers to my pots and get a new barbeque for our balcony.
This weather is so inspiring. Can’t wait to “prettify” our patio this spring. One of our oldest trees was hit by lightning so when the guys came to take it away, I had them leave me a stump. This year I am going to take off the bark and have my husband sand and stain it as an end table next to my rattan lounge chairs! So excited, organic and very “Chique”.

Just found your Blog from “Simply Lovely”. For the decks and patio – another bird bath, more potted flowers than usual, new cushions and more time to savor the days.
we just bought the ugliest house on the beach, but it has a beautiful ocean view !! plan to transform this 1972 gem into something creative and inspired for a family of 4 who live for flip flops and board shorts. the patio desperately needs a dining space. on the hunt for something special sans the plastic. wish me luck.
I plan on getting a couple if new plants to spruce up the place and the great spring clean out is underway!
After the garden is put in it would be nice to add somewhere to eat that did not include weeds (ie pavers?) for my seating-picnic area.
succulents galore for the patio this summer
I have a great but neglected patio space – would love some outdoor pillows!
We just moved into a new, bigger home and out patio will have to be freshened up since it runs the length of our house! there is so much to do and kind of scary of where to start!
Adding a few modern pops of color with chevron pillows this year…along with lots of green from new ferns, herbs and hydrangeas in the beds! so happy to find you on pinterest! xo
I am adding white rocks to tone down our (starting to get) very colorful backyard. And hopefully it will help drought proof our area as well!
